JOB TITLE: BAA Regional Representative    
 
ACCOUNTABLE TO:  BAA President and Directors responsible for Regional Groups
 
JOB SUMMARY:  
The BAA Regional Representative is a volunteer (elected) BAA Full Member who is responsible for representing their local regional group.
 
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Close liaison with Board Directors responsible for regional groups.
  • Close liaison with other Regional Representatives.
  • Liaison with local BAA membership.
  • Liaison with relevant external agencies eg DoH, MRC.
 
MAIN DUTIES:
  • To report to the Regional Group Meetings any local issues or concerns.
  • To report back to local membership any matters that are devolved from the BAA Main Committee either in meetings, in a news letter or by email.
  • To support local BAA Groups in the organisation of meetings and study days.
  • To take minutes at Regional Meetings.
  • To share areas of Best Practice with other regions.
  • To establish a knowledge bank of talks and lectures.
  • To make best use of communication technologies.
  • Keep informed about Regional Committee issues, in particular preparation for meetings, reviews and comments on minutes and reports.
  • Attend Regional Group meetings whenever possible or send a representative.
  • Liaise closely with Board Directors and other regional representatives.
  • Make serious commitment to participate actively in Committee work ensuring performance in the interests of the BAA members.
  • Submit expenses promptly within one month along with a signed expense form including receipts.

The post holder is required to comply with the BAA Code of Conduct for Board Directors.  In particular to be aware and abstain from any conflict of interest, maintaining confidentiality.
