IQIPS - Improving Quality In Physiological diagnostic Services
Newsletter January 2012

The IQIPS website is now live;
www.rcplondon.ac.uk/projects/iqips

Registration is simple, go to the website and register your interest in the IQIPS programme including the self assessment
tool and accreditation.

The accreditation model is being finalised.
The fee structure is still being finalised and will appear on the website shortly.

Recent Department of Health guidance for early Any Qualified Provider (AQP) implementation listed IQIPS as part
of the quality assurance process. Adult hearing services and diagnostics closer to home are early implementers of AQP. The IQIPS programme is designed to help commissioners and patients identify good quality services
and the focus is on quality improvement and it is a supportive model.

The timelines for early implementation AQP are tight and a guide for adult hearing services will be published shortly.

The IQIPS team will be looking to recruit peers assessors in adult hearing services in early 2012 and will advertise
through professional bodies so look out for the invitation!
Assesor training will include a 3 day residential training course to learn how to assess service against the
standards and ensure confidentiality and impartiality.

The roll out of IQIPS is informed by the AQP agenda, the development of speciality specific guidance and the recruitment of expert
assessors.
