National Deaf Children’s Society - Right for the Future conference

Right for the Future conference 2018
Support deaf young people into higher education, careers, and to live independent lives.

Give the deaf young people you support the best chance in the next stage of their lives, whether they're moving into work or education, join us at our conference to meet like-minded professionals and get the latest insights. Our conference will bring together leaders and practitioners to share and discuss the latest developments in policy and practice to ensure deaf young people get the vital support they need for their future - in careers, their studies and leading independent lives.

 Why attend?

Hear from high-profile speakers about policy developments and service delivery - as well as from deaf young people themselves about the challenges and opportunities they face. Gain new insights into how to develop your service to meet the needs of deaf young people and learn about what works from experts.

Share best practice, have your say and help shape the agenda.

Topics include:

  • taking control of our future: views from deaf young people
  • support that is available from the services of the Department for Work and Pensions
  • funding to support deaf young people in post-16 education
  • developing a local transition pathway to adulthood
  • technology for transitions
  • apprenticeships for deaf young people
  • empowering deaf young people
  • plus more.
