The Chief Scientific Office at NHS England launches its Knowledge Transfer Partnership Programme today

The Chief Scientific Officer's Knowledge Transfer Partnership Programme for Leaders in Healthcare Science application process

Applications are welcome across all areas of healthcare science. Applications may include basic science studies, translational and developmental clinical research or quality improvement approaches. Proposals can address a specific translational aim and can also include, or focus on, creative mechanisms to ensuring successful early collaboration including people or skills exchange, workshops, matched funding, additional partners and/or infrastructure collaboration.

Please read through the following information to ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria and can commit to the key dates listed below.

Eligibility

 Applicants must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Practicing healthcare scientist (registered)
  • Honours degree in a relevant subject (required)
  • MSc, DClinSci, FRCPath or PhD (desirable)
  • Demonstrable research and/or quality improvement experience
  • Potential and willingness to influence and contribute to the direction of policy and strategy across the health system
  • Work in a provider of NHS scientific and diagnostic services in England
  • Employer's consent to be released on full pay for the required dates as detailed in the timeline
  • Agree to the terms and conditions of the Fellowship, including attendance on required days
  • Dedicate a minimum of sixteen days to the programme (including six days' development time)

Duration of the programme The Healthcare Scientists engage with leading scientists, booked according to the mutual availability of the scientific expert and the Associate. It is anticipated this will be a of 10 minimum days of active engagement/collaboration; however, opportunities for additional meetings or more extensive collaboration will be considered depending on individual circumstances.
