Tell us your views on proposed increase in HCPC registration fee

November 12, 2018 at 9:39 AM

In a consultation launched recently, HCPC is proposing to increase the annual registration fee from £90 to £106. HCPC currently regulates 16 different health and care professions.

The HCPC consultation on the proposed fee rise outlines why the regulator believes that an increase is justified stating that it is needed in order to invest in areas such as promoting professionalism and preventing fitness to practise issues. HCPC also highlights the impact on their income when social workers in England leave the HCPC register to transfer to a new regulator in 2019.

The consultation closes on 14 December and the BAA will be responding fully to the proposals, highlighting the disproportionate increase in fees of 18 per cent at a time when most of its registrants have seen little or no increase in their own incomes.

As a member-led organisation, BAA need to hear your views to ensure we are fully representing your opinions to HCPC. We would also encourage every member affected to also respond to the HCPC consultation individually.

Please send your comments to by Friday 7th December 2018 in order that we can collate your views and respond fully to the consultation.
