Funding Considerations for Adult Hearing Care Consultation

February 13, 2020 at 2:00 PM

The British Academy of Audiology SQC and BSHAA PSDC have jointly drafted a document aimed to provide guidance on Funding Considerations for Adult Hearing Care. This document is to replace the 2015 “Guidance on Identifying Non-routine Cases of Hearing Loss in Adults. This new draft document is available to read/download here.

The objective of this new guide on funding would be to inform managers and commissioners who make decisions about audiology services at the Health Board/Clinical Commissioning Group level about the provision choices and considerations.

BAA & BSHAA wish to now have this document reviewed and invite comments on individual sections and/or the entire document through a consultation process. Please insert your feedback under the relevant section. We are particularly interested in your feedback on the following questions:

  • Have we captured the key cost drivers to consider for each of the listed services?
  • Are you aware of any evidence-based guidelines we have not referenced and which we should include?
  • How well does the proposed guidance give clarity on adult hearing care?
  • Are you in agreement with the proposed approaches ?

Both groups value opinion and will review before proposing a final version of this guidance.

You can provide your feedback here

The consultation period is open until 27th March 2020.
