The National Deaf Children's Society surveyed all children’s audiology services in England in May 2018. With the help of services across England we now have a very comprehensive data set about paediatric audiology services.

This report is published on 15th October 2018 and can be read here.

The NDCS say that there is lots to celebrate in this report with many services meeting or exceeding good practice guidelines and standards, but the national picture shows a minority of services are not being effectively supported to meet reasonable standards. We hope that monitoring services rigorously each year, will help us, and service commissioners and providers, to identify areas where improvement is needed and where good practice is happening.

The NDCS plan to use the findings from this survey to challenge decision-makers, in local trusts as well as national bodies like NHS England, to provide high quality, well-resourced audiology services for every deaf child wherever they live.
