I have been the co-opted Board Representative for Northern Ireland since January 2013 and enjoy this role enormously. I have worked with the Board to help establish a Home Countries Strategy for BAA. In Northern Ireland, this has led to BAA hosting an annual local Heads of Service Day and producing a briefing paper to highlight the workforce and training issues particular to NI. This paper led to the implementation of a Regional Workforce Review which has been completed and the resulting Workforce Plan is awaiting Department of Health NI approval.

In November 2017 I became a Board Director and took on the role of treasurer for BAA. This has given me greater insight into the full range of BAA activities and allowed me to apply the experience and knowledge I have gained for the wider benefit of BAA whilst continuing to represent the particular interests of Northern Ireland.

I began my career in Audiology in 1982 and am currently employed by South Eastern H&SC Trust as Audiology & ENT Services Manager. In recent years my focus has been on service improvement, leadership and team development. Amongst my work commitments at present I’m involved in ENT Regional Reform Group, Tinnitus Strategy working group and Audiology Heads of Service network. In my spare time I’m an enthusiastic supporter of amateur league football which both my sons play and am the assistant treasurer of their club.
