Board Lead – Early Professionals
I am a passionate believer in the importance of a patient-centred approach to audiology care and the importance of empowerment in facilitating rehabilitation. My background in Hearing Therapy and a keen interest in health psychology underpins my working life. For twenty years I worked in a large NHS Audiology team and acted as ambassador for the service in liaison with local groups serving the hard of hearing and Deaf communities.
Working with children, young people and adults in aural rehabilitation. Teaching, training and course delivery have been an extensive part of my work and have led to further invitations to discuss and disseminate good practice both within the realm of my clinical expertise and as a leader in healthcare. I am now privileged to work within the team at De Montfort University as a senior lecturer on the Audiology programme and am really fortunate to be able to develop understanding and promote the importance of rehabilitation for our Early Professionals. I am keen to work to engage our Early Professionals with professional bodies and enable them to use such a valuable resource and centre of knowledge.
