BAA President 2017/19

Areas of Special Interest: Adult Hearing Rehabilitation, Hearing aid Technology

I am a qualified Audiologist, Hearing Aid Dispenser and Hearing Therapist currently working as an Audiologist in the Training and Education Department at Starkey Hearing Technologies.

I qualified as an audiologist in 1992 and worked at Bradford Royal Infirmary for 12 years, completing a degree in Audiological Studies and my Hearing Therapy training during this period. I have spent two years working on the development of Noah 4 software with HIMSA in Copenhagen. My last clinical post was as a Senior Audiologist in Blackburn.

As the Immediate Past President of BAA I continue to support the Regional Group Leads with their meetings. I have organised the IDA Paediatric Training Day in September and I am still involved in the Conference Planning Team.

I feel my varied experience adds value to the BAA Board by providing a different view on the changing world of audiology. My experience working internationally and my commercial background complement my NHS background to provide me with an unusual overview of our changing profession. In my job role I also meet many BAA members around the country and feel that regular contact with a varied group of members adds to my role on BAA Board
