Belfast Health and Social Care Trust is now recruiting for Band 6 Senior Audiologists to join their team.

Reports to: Line Manager

Responsible to: Audiology Manager/ENT Assistant Service Manager

Note: A waiting list may be compiled for any similar posts that arise over the next 12 months

Job Summary

This is a specialist grade role in which you will be clinically responsible for the provision of routine and specialist audiological assessment and habilitation of patients of all ages. You will have specialist knowledge in a range of procedures and practices, underpinned by theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

You will be part of an established multi-disciplinary team, responsible for delivering safe and effective Audiology and Hearing Aid Service for adults and children with the Trust area.

Essential Criteria

1. Minimum 1 year Post BSc Clinical Audiology experience at Band 5 level or above/equivalent and can demonstrate a portfolio of development during this period

OR Minimum 1 year Post BSc Clinical Audiology experience, hold a MSc in Audiology and can demonstrate a portfolio of development during this period

2. BSc Audiology / BSc Clinical Physiology or BTEC in MPPM or equivalent

OR BAAT Part 1 and 2 Audiology Examinations or equivalent AND must be able to evidence post graduate training, learning and development AND registered with RCCP/AHCS or HCPC

3. Meet the mobility needs of the Trust
4. Willing to undertake further higher training in order to meet the needs of the service up to masters level
5. Willing to undertake leadership training to develop within the role
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to include ability to communicate with the hearing impaired and their carers
7. Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
8. Ability to work to a high standard without direct instruction or supervision, adhering to departmental policies and procedures
9. Effective planning and organisational skills with an ability to prioritise own workload
10. Be able to demonstrate knowledge and expertise in clinical scenarios
11. Understanding of the job and how it contributes to the team and the wider professional network
12. Knowledge of current trends in Audiology
13. Evidence of ongoing study and continuing personal/professional development
14. Knowledge of recent research/developments
15. Ability to make judgements involving complex facts which require the analysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of options
16. Good level of IT skills

Desirable Criteria

1. Special interest in areas of Paediatrics, Tinnitus or Vestibular Audiology
