Belfast Health and Social Care Trust is now recruiting for Band 7 Specialist Audiologists, with a special interest in a Tinnitus Service, to join their team.
Reports to: Professional Manager, Audiology Services
Accountable to: Service Manager, ENT
Note: A waiting list may be compiled for any similar posts that arise over the next 12 months.
Job Summary
This is a specialist level role, working autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, within the ENT service. You will be providing a high level of specialist audiological care, with an interest in the treatment of Tinnitus & Hyperacusis. You will be expected to take forward the modernisation of the Tinnitus and Hyperacusis Therapy service, developing innovative and patient focused models of cares.
You will also provide highly specialised and technical input to the team, carrying out specialist audiological assessment, rehabilitation and programming of therapeutic aids. In this role you will also be expected to carry out management responsibilities alongside supervision and training of junior staff.
Essential Criteria
- Degree in Clinical Science/Physiology or BTec in MPPM or equivalent
- BAAT Part 1 and 2 Audiology Examinations or equivalent AND registered with the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP)/ Academy for Healthcare Scientists (AHCS), Health Care Profession Council (HCPC).
- At least 2 years Audiology experience at Band 6 level or above/equivalent AND be able to demonstrate a portfolio of training and development of working with tinnitus/hyperacusis patients
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to meet the needs of the post in full
- Have ability to network regionally and nationally and influence regarding training and education to promote and develop adult audiology services.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to work to a high standard without direct instruction or supervision, adhering to departmental policies and procedures.
- Effective planning and organisational skills with an ability to prioritise own workload
- Understanding of the job and how it contributes to the team and the wider professional network
- Knowledge of current trends in Audiology/Auditory rehabilitation
- Evidence of ongoing study and continuing personal/professional development. Knowledge within Audiology of advanced testing and procedures.
- Knowledge of recent research/developments

- Experience of audit process
