Role overview:

  • Full time – core hours Monday to Friday with some evening and weekend working to be expected
  • Field based, with substantial travel covering Scotland, Ireland and the North East of England
  • Based within the Business Development team, reporting to the Head of Business Development (North)

Person Specification/Skills:


  • Health professional background (Cochlear, Middle Ear Implant and General Audiology considered)
  • Account Management/Business Development experience
  • Proven self-starter
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks
  • Agility in adapting to manage changing priorities
  • IT Literacy – MS Office Suite & Customer Relationship Management system
  • A proactive nature
  • Curious & inquisitive approach


  • Theatre /surgical experience
  • Academic background

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the growth and delivery of sales across the whole MED-EL Hearing product portfolio, working to eliminate hearing loss as a barrier to communication
  • Account management of key clinics across our hearing portfolio, manage and grow existing relationships and identify and develop new business opportunities
  • Develop and nurture the relationship with multi-disciplinary clinician teams, both internally and externally enabling the company to build on its outstanding reputation, and to provide an efficient and accurate response to commercial opportunities
  • Provide customers with the most up to date product and scientific information – engage and develop their interest and intent to choose us and our products
  • Close teamwork within the UK and with international colleagues in Headquarters and across the world
  • Proactive account management and strategic planning, facilitating cross team collaboration and documenting formal plans
  • Ensuring knowledge of latest products, research and publications are up to date and can be utilised to form sound arguments regarding candidacy
