We are seeking a highly motivated and quality driven Audiologist or Clinical Scientist to join our friendly and motivated team at the Centre for Hearing and Balance Disorders at UHCW NHS Trust.
You will require an MSc in Audiology or equivalent (e.g. Masters module in relevant subject with relevant HTS module), have significant experience of working in an NHS environment and you should be registered with the relevant professional body (HCPC or RCCP).
The department provides a diagnostic and habilitation service to the paediatric population of Coventry and Rugby and beyond.
The role will consist of both routine and complex caseloads and includes specialist areas of electrophysiological testing, hearing aid fittings, repairs and all aspects of paediatric assessment including those with complex needs and in particular young babies.
There is a team leader aspect to the role so any leadership qualifications or experience is certainly desirable. However development of such leadership skills, will be supported through the Trust’s Leading Together programme, which is already implemented across the department.
At Coventry we pride ourselves on the excellent services we provide accredited by UKAS via the IQIPS programme. We have a very strong focus on quality and as such, this role has a significant quality assurance, supervision and service development aspect.
The Audiology team is a close knit group who work hard to embrace the Trust’s values and behaviours and develop working relationships. The team will expect the successful candidate to work to the same standards, embrace our Trust values, particularly with respect to communication.
The department currently runs a 5 day service with hours of work between 8:00AM and 5:00PM. This is a full time post and may be worked over 4.5 days per week or 9 days per fortnight.

The Department of Speech and Hearing Sciencesoffers professional programmes at BSc, MSc and Doctoral level education. The MSc Audiology degree is studied over two years and includes a minimum of 1000 hours of practice education in collaboration with Health Service Providers.

Duties of the post will include supporting students and practice educators during practice placement experience including all associated administrative duties. The person appointed will work closely with the Practice Education Coordinator based in UCC.

The UCL Ear Institute is seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Audiology to undertake and advance audiological research and teaching. The Ear Institute is a multi-disciplinary centre dedicated to understanding the mechanisms of hearing and the causes of deafness.
The post holder will work closely with research and teaching staff at the Ear Institute and clinicians at the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital and other NHS hospitals to deliver innovative research and teaching. Responsibilities of the post include successful advancement of an independent audiological research programme; leadership of clinical audiology programmes as a Module Coordinator and/or Programme Director; supervision of postgraduate student research projects at PhD, MRes and MSc levels; and provision of pastoral and tutorial support to students.
This is a full-time role, but we may consider a part-time arrangement (0.8 FTE, 29.2 hours per week) for candidates who wish to maintain 0.2 FTE of existing clinical duties.
The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of current theoretical issues in audiology and audiological practice worldwide, and an extensive knowledge of diagnostic audiology assessment and rehabilitation. Essential requirements of the role include extensive clinical experience in the NHS or other healthcare sector, along with a strong record of disseminating research and/or teaching via clinical groups, conference presentations and publications in journals.
