Join us for an hour with some leaders in our profession, who have fulfilled a fantastic variety of roles in UK audiology as they worked their way up the Audiology Leadership ladder.

Kath Lewis is Head of Audiology at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and President of the BAA (2020-2022). As well as her Head of Service role and leading the BAA Board, Kath is also Secretary of the North West School of Audiology providing professional training courses and seminars; Honorary Lecturer at Manchester University and Manchester Metropolitan University; a STEM ambassador; Coach previously with ‘Teach First’ currently MFT coach with NLP coaching certification; a Registered Hearing Aid Dispenser (professional status maintained) and a Counsellor.

Sue Falkingham is a Past President of BAA, and still leads on the Joint Audiology & Otology Guidance document for BAA. She is a Registered Hearing Aid Dispenser, Qualified Audiologist and Hearing Therapist with a specialism in adult hearing aid rehabilitation. Previous experience includes, Lead Audiologist for a private service providing NHS hearing aids. Audiologist on the development team of Noah 4 software. Hearing aid sales within the NHS and commercial sector.

Aarti Makan is an Audiologist and Speech Therapist. She is London’s Dean for Healthcare Science (Health Education England) and an Independent Clinical Audiologist (The Art of Hearing Ltd). Aarti has been a Deputy Head of Service, an External Teaching Fellow at UCL and a part time Clinical Lead Assessor IQIPS for UCAS.
