We are offering a one-day intensive course covering the essentials of aural microsuctioning for nurses, audiologists and other healthcare practitioners, at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.

This course is being offered in response to both growing interest and clinical demands requiring more healthcare professionals to deliver a microsuctioning service to the approximately 2.3 million people every year who require intervention for wax impaction.

Course trainers are highly experienced ENT surgeons and nurse practitioners and will each train a maximum of 2-3 delegates ensuring high-quality, focused teaching with real-time troubleshooting and feedback. Delegates should have a comprehensive experience of ear care.

Our Course:

  • Provides delegates with the basic competencies to offer a microsuction service safely and confidently.
  • Provides extensive, evidence-based teaching on the key principles of microsuctioning, including anatomy and pathology of the ear, examination, diagnosis, equipment, techniques and troubleshooting commonly encountered problems.
  • Provides full practical training with otoscopes, microscopes and other commonly used equipment.
  • Provides ample practical training on realistic models including mastoid cavity clearance.
  • Will be delivered in-person maintaining all social distancing guidelines.

To be held on 20th November 2021, 0830-5pm at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.

Course Fees: £350 private delegates, £150 NHS delegates. Course fees will cover equipment used.
