The CSO has issued the following information and statement:

As we enter unprecedented times in the NHS and wider health and social care services, it is essential that we continue to work together and support the healthcare science workforce. The healthcare science workforce has already made major contributions to the response to COVID-19 and we must support them to continue to do so.

Please find below a joint statement regarding the workforce response to COVID-19 from the Chief Scientific Officers / Advisors in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland. This statement sets out the need for temporary changes to practice of healthcare science professionals and a flexible approach from employers, educationalists, professional bodies and national NHS organisations with regards to roles and responsibilities.
