The first paper in the ‘Healthcare Science in Scotland’ series, has been published today on the Scottish Government website, and is available to download here: Healthcare Science in Scotland: Defining Our Strategic Approach

Professor Catherine Ross, Chief Scientific Officer for Scotland, highlights the publication of this paper as “an important step forward as it will act as an anchor to all of our future work in relation to healthcare science in Scotland. It demonstrates a commitment to ensuring healthcare science is fully embedded in service planning and delivery at a local and national level, therefore ensuring the NHS in Scotland is prepared to meet the changing needs of our population.

She continues, “I would like to take this opportunity to recognise, and thank, our workforce across the NHS in Scotland – and beyond – who contributed so meaningfully to help shape this work. Their valuable contribution has demonstrated how beneficial the principles of co-production are in work like this.”
