You are invited to a series of events in January to March 2023 to support the hearing health of children and young people who are autistic and/or have a learning disability, as part of the NHS England hearing checks in residential special schools project (please find attached some further information about this work, including an easy read version of this invite). Co-Production Collective is working in partnership with NHS England to deliver these events.

In these events, attendees will:

  • Become part of ‘a network’ – this is an opportunity to be part of setting up a paediatric audiology ‘network’ (name to be developed by the group) made up of people with both living and learnt experience to further assist the sector in developing an approach to hearing health for children and young people who are autistic and/or have a learning disability which centres their needs and experiences.
    • We intend to share best practice and give you the opportunity to learn from others, while also developing ‘a network’ that works for you as a group.
  • How do I sign up? – please read on to find out the further action required to register your place at these events (please see the ‘How do I confirm my attendance?’ section highlighted in yellow below).

The dates for these events are below. The idea is that you attend all three events, as we are keen to develop a space where you can work together. If you are unavailable for one of them, we will provide the relevant context in advance/at the start of the sessions and follow up afterwards.

The dates for the events are:

  • Thursday 19 January 2023, 10:00-12noon
  • Thursday 28 February 2023, 11:00-13:00
  • Monday 6 March 2023, 14:00-16:00

How do I confirm my attendance?

Please complete this short  survey to register to attend the events, asking for your name, which events you can attend, and if there is anything we can do to make the event easier for you to participate in.

If you find it easier, please email this information to c.apter@ucl.ac.uk instead.

If you have colleagues, friends/family or other people/organisations who you think would be interested in joining us, please share this information.
