Board Lead – Conference
I have now been on the BAA Board for 4 years, over that time I have worked on supporting the Regional Groups then for the last three years I have been Board Director for Conference. I have thoroughly enjoyed being on Board and personally have learnt a lot. Hopefully, in beginning the updating of Regional meetings and by delivering conference, I have shown to the membership a clear commitment to the BAA. In challenging times financially for all departments and for members it is important to ensure that BAA provides opportunities for all members to access up to date knowledge and professional development that are value for money and accessible. With regard to the conference it is important to me that members’ and sponsors’ money is spent effectively and wisely to provide a high-quality event. We are now working towards ensuring the conference continues to be relevant and successful in the years ahead.
In my day job, I’m Head of Audiology in Nottingham, where I have worked for the last 20 years in a variety of roles. I continue to be involved in the national recruitment and assessment of STP trainees. I am also fortunate enough to get to work alongside a variety of other professionals in such activities as being an assessor for the STP programme, teaching on the BTA Paediatric Tinnitus course and working with research colleagues in the Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre.
